How can you make such large prints? And won't they look blurry that large?
Our photographs are created using high resolution original images. This allows us to make large photographic prints that have vivid colors and sharp details.
How are your photographs printed?
With the advances in digital printing technology using archival pigmented inks and the selection of beautiful photographic art papers and canvas materials available, I prefer photographs printed on a professional series wide format digital printer. The process is also much more environmentally friendly than the harsh chemicals that are used in "a wet chemistry process".
Are your photographs available on metal panels ?
Yes, our images are available on metal, canvas and photo paper. For more information visit our website www.LawrencePhotographs.com
What if I don't have the wall space for a large panoramic image?
Not a problem. Our panoramic images can be custom cropped to smaller size ratios and still look great. You tell us what size of photograph you would like, and we can email jpg files to you with suggested crops.
What do you mean by size ratios?
Here you can see how the same image might look when cropped to different size ratios. A full panoramic image is a 3:1 ratio - which means it is three times longer than it is tall (for example, 24x72 inches). A wide format image is a 2:1 ratio - which means it is two times longer than it is tall (for example 24x48 inches). A traditional format image is a 3:2 ratio - which means it is one and a half times longer than it is tall (for example 24x36 inches). And a square format image is - you guessed it - square (for example 24x24 inches).
Which is better, an image printed on canvas or printed on paper?
It really depends on the overall look and type of framing options that you prefer. Photographs on photographic paper are traditionally matted and framed behind glass or acrylic. Images printed on canvas don't need to be behind glass or acrylic. This means no reflections and less weight for large prints. Canvas prints can be stretched as a"gallery wrap" and hung on a wall without using a picture frame. Or the canvas can be stretched and framed in a float frame if you prefer a more traditional look. We are selling more and more prints on canvas, especially in larger sizes.
Are canvas photographs stretched and ready to hang ?
Your choice! We can ship canvas photographs un-stretched and "rolled in a tube". You can then have the canvas stretched and framed as you like. Our canvas photographs are also available stretched and framed. Contact us for more details about shipping your artwork on un-stretched canvas.
Do your offer photographs mounted on acrylic panels ?
Yes, due to the number of mounting options and sizes - we offer acrylic wall art as a special order product. Please contact us for more information.
I am looking for artwork that can be used in a healthcare environment - any suggestions?
Yes, we have an special print/mount artwork that is designed especially for healthcare environments.
I have a long 40 foot wall in our building where I would like to put a photo mural. Can you make a wall mural that large?
Sure, this sounds like the perfect place for one of our “very wide” MegaPan images. These are long 6:1 and 5:1 ratio images. (our regular panoramics are a 3:1 ratio). A 5:1 ratio image printed 8 feet tall would be 40 feet long. MegaPans can also be used for photo mural that is going to be on several walls in the same room. Or if you are putting a photo mural above a chair rail and are looking for a photo mural that is 4 feet x 20 feet.
Do you print "wall paper murals" in your studio?
After testing a number of wall covering mural options, we decided to partner with wide-format graphics print shop. We often work with a company located several miles from our studio. We prepare each digital file for size and color balance in our studio and then deliver the digital files to the graphics print shop for final printing. Selected images from our image library are also available to order from MuralsYourWay and Limitless Walls.
Why do the images look dark on my computer monitor?
Computer monitors can vary quite a bit on how they display images. Is your monitor calibrated? You can use this simple calibration image to adjust the contrast or brightness of your monitor. If you are using a laptop computer, try tilting your screen back and forth to adjust the brightness also. The small image files on our web site can not come close to showing the full range of color and details found in our printed photographs.
Do you exhibit at art shows?
Yes, I do participate in several shows a year in the greater Tampa Bay area. However, most of my artwork is sold directly off of our web sites.
